Although an obvious homage to the Shadow, this collection of short stories brings concise and detailed, sometimes even vividly so, scenes together which emphasize the mystery of the title character. The early Shadow novels kept the hero as a peripheral character for most of the story. That's not an issue with these, which feature this hero as much as his aides and enemies. Some good atmosphere. i've had the honor of reading some of the gray ghost stories and what a joy it was. the gray ghost draws back to a time of pulp novel heroes such as the shadow and the spider. great fun and i hope this is just the beginning of a long line of adventures.
I would like to recommend this book to everyone who wants to read a very interesting and exciting story where the action never stops. I have found that these books are very hard to put down. I will be looking forward to reading the next book from this author.
